Sadie wanted to be pet of the month too and so we can't leave her out as she is Cat's special kitty. Apparently someone had dumped a cat and her kittens in a chicken crate with someone who fostered dogs but didn't really like cats. She had them all spayed and neutered, too young, and had left them in a cold garage. Poor Sadie almost died from being spayed at 5 weeks of age. Cat and her husband Pete went there and saved her and her mom and siblings. Sadie stayed on with Cat and was her Valentines Day gift. Sadie loves to sit on the top of the computer and help her Mom with all her correspondence. She is such a beauty and so loving. What a treasure. You can see her web page at Catster
Penny Pony came into our family two years ago as a gift to my grandson, Ian. She is part Shetland and part Miniature Horse. What a character she is. She loves to be groomed and have children play with her. Her most favorite thing is running in figure eights in the big dressage arena. She lives at Traumhof, my daughter's Dressage Training facility, with about 28 big dressage horses (some of them are so big she could walk under their tummies). She seems to love all the big horses and certainly is the queen of them all. She can jump and is very well trained. She is so good with children, Ian can walk around with her and she is so careful not to step on him.
Chief is the funniest, most adorable Rottweillor. He was rescued at the age of 5 weeks from a backyard puppy mill. The owner was on his way to jail and the puppies were going to be euthanized. He has had many surgeries to correct his hips and knees. This why puppy mills and irresponsible breeders have to be stopped. Incorrect breeding and improper natal care have caused so many problems with so many breeds of dogs. Chief is very lucky to have the family he has to take such great care of him. He lives in a family of cats and thinks he is a cat. Robert Tail, the cat, was a rescue kitten at the same time Chief was a puppy and they have grown up together and are great friends. You can see his webpage at Dogster.
Mountain Dew was found behind a Mountain Dew machine when he was about 4 weeks old. He was shivering and wet and his whiskers had been burned off by some abusive person. He almost died of pneumonia. But, his meowmy, our photographer partner, Cat Smith-Ward, perservered and took such great care of him he is now a healthy, strapping, grown kitty. Dew helped get his Mom and Dad together. They worked part time at a Home Depot and each had button photos of their cats, Dew and Armand, on their aprons. They got to talking about their cats all the time and now they are married and living happily ever after. Dew loves to pose for photos, he is a real ham. You can see his webpage at Catster.
